  • A local group are planning to give Helensburgh a bright Christmas in 2010

A local group are planning to light up Christmas in Helensburgh this year, after the disappointing display of festive lights in the town in 2009.

The Friends of Victoria Hall are working to repair the town's lights, and are planning to add to the current crop to make sure Helensburgh shines this Christmas.

The group, Councillor Vivien Dance, Tony Dance, Joan Mulroy, Caroline Mundie, John Niven and Darrel Hendrie are also planning a fundraising drive to put on an impressive display this Christmas.

Another group looking forward to a bright Christmas are the residents of Tower Place, who are organising their own display of lights at the flats.
