Helensburgh to Edinburgh by train via Airdrie and Bathgate

The electrified Helensburgh to Edinburgh Waverley railway line via Airdie and Bathgate opened on schedule on Sunday, 12-12-2010. Passengers trains had not been able to use this route since 1956.

Blackcraigs station was opened on time, however Armadale and Caldercruix look as if they will not be opened for some weeks yet; a bus service caters for would be rail passengers.

A fast, frequent, comfortable and efficient train service ran on Sunday, without interruptions to services, despite plenty of snow still lying around.
